I had been wrestling with the idea of blogging some of my life experiences with the intent of encouraging others who may be going through similar situations. Although the main audience being those who have been attending church for a long time and are caught in the cycle of just "doing church", I believe these stories will reach all audiences with God's help.

I'd rather fail miserably at something I feel God asked me to do than just sit back and wonder what could've, would've or should've happened.

I Am A PK...

My parents were born in the Dominican Republic and were believers from a young age. They studied in the Assemblies Of God bible institute and became pastors – pay attention, this is foreshadowing!! They were married in their 20’s and decided to have a family right away – plus they didn’t have Facebook back then. Unfortunately, they were not able to have kids but they never gave up hope and continuously prayed to God for a miracle.

After being married for about 10 years, a friend of the family prayed over them and declared that God would give them children. Not too long after that my parents had their first son, Jose – followed by Lidia, Josue, Loida, Benjamin and Ismael. Just in case you are struggling with the math, that makes 6 kids - all healthy and serving God. I am the youngest of these 6 kids… I am a PK (Pastor’s Kid).

Sometimes I wonder what life would have been like if the Cabrera kids would have been born 10 years earlier. Would we all still be serving God? Would we all be alive? How much did those 10 years of prayer affect my parent’s faith journey? These are all great questions that I am sure God will have great answers to when I get to heaven. All I know is that God has a purpose for everything He does – that’s a whole other blog for another day!!

This is just one of many miracles that my family and I have experienced. I don’t want to hog all those great miracles and not share them with my friends and family! I am going to tell the world (or at least those who read my blogs) about what He has done in my life! My desire is that somehow as I share these miracle stories with you, it will encourage you to trust in a God that is not only able to do miracles for my life but for your life, too!

“So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.” Psalm 78:7
